SRL Planning Area Declaration Boundary

The Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) planning area declaration was published in the Victoria Government Gazette on 7 December 2023 and takes effect on and from 8 December 2023.

As gazetted, the declaration makes the Suburban Rail Loop Authority a planning authority under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 for any land to which a SRL planning area declaration applies and has effect. This means that the Suburban Rail Loop Authority may prepare planning scheme amendments within the declared SRL planning areas.

Councils remain a planning authority for their entire municipality.
